Concentrating her practice in the area of family law, Ms. Doherty was the 2006-2007 President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of Matrimonial Lawyes and was the 1999-2000 Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  She is former co-chair of the Family Law Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association and former chair of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Ms. Doherty also serves on the Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Law for the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission. She is a member of the American Bar Association, and she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 1986. Ms. Doherty has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for family law and Martindale-Hubbel Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1995.  She has been named a Super Lawyer for 2004 through 2007 and was named Top 50 Women for 2005 to 2007 and Top 100 Attorneys in 2006.  She was slected as one of the Top Leaders of Greater Philadelphia Matrimonial and Divorce Law, 2005-2006.  Ms. Doherty is a frequent lecturer and author in the field of family law, and has served as course planner for programs sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and Administrative Offices of Pennsylvania Courts. She served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute from 1992 to 1998, winning the National Award for the course Drafting Marital Settlement Agreements in 1997. She currently participates in community activities such as pre-marriage counseling and support to bereaved parents.
